I find myself always coming back to blogging after quite long intervals. Truth be told - I've really kept myself busy with work, work, and more work. However, the rewards have been great so far. I've had almost the week off of work, unwinding and dining and a whole lot of shopping in between. Here's the scoop on what's been going on with me for the past month and a half:
• I have finally managed to budget my money and really save those last couple paycheques. I've learned to become more frugal and to always think twice before swiping that debit card of mine. I have achieved my goal of sustaining more than $1.5k in my account. It may not be a lot right now but it sure is a great start. Although, my birthday was an exception and I will have to make up for it next week • My closest friends and I celebrated my twentieth birthday on Thursday (and Friday), cause you know, one day is really not enough celebration time. A more detailed post is to follow with pictures and such • I've bought myself a new camera! It is a Canon EOS 50D and was sold to me by one of my best friends, Marciane! Thanks again so much for my new baby. I will still hold onto my first baby SLR, my Olympus E410, but I am going to revive my love for photography with this new camera • Another great accomplishment since I've last updated was weight loss. Believe it or not, but I've lost 20 lbs. since the beginning of this month and I didn't even notice! Cutting out rice, consuming a lot of protein, fruits and vegetables, running and doing stairs workouts, and drinking gallons upon gallons of lemon water (just like Sasha Fierce) really changed my whole persona and helped out with losing weight.
Other than that, things have been going mighty well for myself. Really can't complain. More posts to follow. Seriously.

As mentioned before, I'm the kind of person that opts for one pair of jeans, as you can see from the past few posts - my favourite black pair of skinny jeans. I find that it's a staple in my wardrobe, or for everyday. It's my go-to pants, an easy pair to match with anything I feel like and because it's a neutral/base colour, there really isn't any exception. However, I am slowly trying to step out of my comfort zone and opting to wear different pairs of bottoms. A couple weeks ago I found myself spring cleaning out my closet, I figured it was about time and I'd start fresh with this new season. As I reached the last section of my closet, the bottom shelf of jeans, pants, and bottoms etc., I rediscovered this pair of army pants my dad had bought for me back when I was thirteen years old and I instantly fell in love all over again. It's true that one of the best feelings is stumbling upon an old item in your closet and realizing how awesome it is afterwards. These pants are so roomy and comfortable versus the skinny jeans I wear on a daily basis and it's always great to have a new feel for something different. This season's goal - more coloured jeans/pants! Liven up your wardrobe and do something different!
Here's something new: I've got my job interview tomorrow afternoon, on Friday the 13th. I'm pulling out all things necessary to prep me once again for another grueling interview (hello, peppermint green tea lattes and H&M shopping). Here's hoping for only good omens on Friday the 13th!

• Someone must take my debit card and freeze it in a boulder of ice

Thursday was my day off and so my cousin Melissa and I ventured off to the big city for a day out. Toronto has always had a special place in my heart, and any given opportunity to visit the big city, I'll be there in a heart beat. The fast paced lifestyle, sophisticated people, and the high energy environment, what's not to love about Toronto? Hamilton's a great city, but Toronto is where I belong, just a sidenote on my relationship with Toronto. What was planned as a day of shopping soon turned into an adventure to the Royal Ontario Museum, to check out the anticipated exhibit on the ancient Mayan culture. We explored the Eatons Centre, the Bay, and for once tried on a classic and amazing Burberry trench coat (which I'm considering to purchase for my birthday). We ended our fantastic Thursday at one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of dining in, Brassaii (seriously, I'll be coming back!). It's always so much fun and never a dull moment when partnered up with my cousin whom I share so many interests with. Toronto, we'll be back!

Wishing the warmest birthday greetings to the girl in my life for all time, my mom! Today my family and I will be celebrating the woman who holds our family together, the eternal source of unconditional love and compassion, the driving force in our lives, the individual whom we literally owe everything to. I do give my mom so much credit for shaping the person who I am today - all the life lessons, teachings, guidance, and endless lectures, have truly stuck with me throughout my twenty years living. Growing up, my relationship with my parents were very much on the rocks and wasn't the greatest. Nevertheless, we all learned to rise above and overcome every situation as a family. I am very blessed to have such parents who love me beyond any limit. She is everything and more that any mother could be, and I do love her with all my heart. Happy Birthday, Mom, and cheers to the next 46 and many, many more!
